FAQ

What do I wear to go diving?

You wear far less to go diving in Isla Fuerte than most people expect. In the warm 27 to 29°C Caribbean water, you dive in a swimsuit under a rash guard or a thin wetsuit, and everything else is technical gear that we provide. There is no need to arrive with bulky equipment or specialized clothing. The wetsuit or rash guard keeps you comfortable and gives light protection from sun and coral, while your mask, fins, buoyancy vest, regulator, tank and weights all come from us. Show up with a swimsuit and a sense of adventure, and we handle the rest.

What to wear in the water

Under the water you wear a swimsuit with a rash guard or a thin 3mm wetsuit over it. That is genuinely all the exposure protection you need in this warm sea.

The rash guard or wetsuit also shields you from the tropical sun and any accidental brush against coral. Light and simple is exactly right here.

What to bring

Pack a swimsuit, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, and drinking water for the boat. If you own a mask or dive computer, bringing your own adds comfort and familiarity, but it is never required.

A hat, sunglasses and a light layer for the ride from Paso Nuevo round out a perfect day bag. Keep it light and easy.

What we provide

Every Nautilus service includes full equipment: mask, fins, BCD, regulator, tank and weights, all checked and ready. You do not need to own or rent anything extra to dive with us.

This is part of why our prices, with Discover Scuba and fun dives from $320.000, are complete rather than a base rate plus add-ons. Insurance and a certified instructor are included too.

Every service includes gear, insurance and boat transfer.

Reef-safe and ready

Choosing reef-safe sunscreen protects the very corals you came to see, and it is a small choice that makes a real difference. Apply it before you gear up so it has time to absorb.

With that, you are ready for a warm, easy day on the water. See our courses and dives or read more guides to prepare for your trip.

A quick checklist

To keep it simple, arrive with a swimsuit on, a towel and reef-safe sunscreen in your bag, and water to stay hydrated. Everything technical is waiting for you on the boat.

Leave the heavy gear at home and travel light, because warm-water diving is refreshingly low on equipment. Simplicity is part of the pleasure here.
