FAQ

Do I need my own equipment?

No, you do not need to own any diving equipment to dive with Nautilus in Isla Fuerte. Every service we offer includes full equipment rental as standard: mask, fins, BCD, regulator, tank and weights. You can arrive with nothing more than a swimsuit and a towel and still complete a full day on the reef. This is one of the things first-time visitors ask us most, and the answer is always the same: just show up ready to get in the water.

What is included in every dive

Full equipment is bundled into the price of every activity, from a Discover Scuba first try to a fun dive or the Bushnell expedition. That means a properly fitted mask, comfortable fins, a buoyancy control device (BCD), a regulator that delivers your air, an aluminium tank and the exact weights you need to stay balanced.

Because our water sits between 27 and 29°C year-round, most people dive in a rash guard or a thin 3mm wetsuit rather than heavy neoprene. We help you choose so you are neither cold nor overheated on the boat.

Small groups and certified PADI instructors on every dive.

If you own your own gear

You are always welcome to bring your own equipment. Many experienced divers travel with the pieces that touch their body most, usually a mask that fits their face perfectly and a dive computer they trust. Both make a real difference to comfort and familiarity underwater.

If you bring your own regulator or BCD, we simply check it over before the dive as part of our normal safety routine. If anything is missing or needs servicing, we cover the gap with our rental gear so your day is never interrupted.

How we fit your equipment

Good gear only works when it fits. Before you get in the water our certified instructors size your BCD to your torso, choose fins that match your foot, and set your weights based on your body, your exposure suit and whether you are diving fresh from the boat or after a surface interval.

A well-fitted mask that does not leak and weighting that lets you hover effortlessly are the two things that most separate a stressful first dive from a relaxed one, so we take the time to get them right.

Well-maintained and insured

As a PADI dive center we service and inspect our equipment on a regular schedule, so the gear you rent is reliable and safe. Every dive with us also includes Magenta dive insurance, and we are backed by DAN protocols with the nearest recompression chamber in Coveñas.
