Socorro is one of the 29 dive sites we run around Isla Fuerte, in the Colombian Caribbean. It sits at a maximum depth of 21 metros and is classified as Open water, which makes it a site for certified Open Water divers.
The dive
After a briefing on the boat, you descend along the reef slope into calm, clear water. At around 21 meters the light softens and the bigger animals appear. A typical dive here lasts 40 to 50 minutes, and your guide adapts the route to the current and the conditions of the day.
In March, April and May the visibility is at its best, sometimes so clear you can choose your entry from the surface.

What you'll see
Divers regularly encounter here: Corales: acropora palmata, corales cerebro, montrastrea, esponjas. Peces: jureles, sierras, pargos, meros, tortuga carey, tiburon nodriza, tiburon punta blanca, pargos, roncos, creoles, morenas, centollas, langostas, pez leon, rayas latigo, medregales, barracudas, pez ballesta..
Remember that every dive is different, and part of the magic of Isla Fuerte is never knowing exactly who will show up.
