Open Water Diver is the world's most popular scuba certification and the real beginning of a diving life. Once certified, you can plan and make dives with a buddy to 18 meters, rent equipment and dive at any dive center on the planet.
What you'll learn
The course has three parts: knowledge development (e-learning theory), confined-water sessions where you master the core skills, and four open-water dives on the reefs of Isla Fuerte.
- How your equipment works and how to care for it
- Buoyancy control, the skill that makes diving effortless
- What to do if you run low on air or lose a piece of gear
- How to plan a dive and stay within safe limits

Requirements
From age 10 (Junior Open Water for 10 to 14), able to swim and in reasonable health. Usually completed in three to four days.
Why do it in Isla Fuerte
There are few better classrooms than the best-preserved reefs of the continental Caribbean. Small groups, warm clear water and 29 dive sites mean you learn fast and remember it forever.
