Nurse shark in Isla Fuerte

The nurse shark is a docile, bottom-dwelling shark that rests under ledges by day, a diver favorite and completely harmless.

How to recognize it

Look under overhangs for a broad, flattened head, small eyes and two barbels near the mouth. It often lies motionless on the sand.
