In late 2020 we launched a small transparent-kayak project alongside Hotel La Playita, convinced that Isla Fuerte had enormous potential for nature tourism. One question kept coming back: where can you dive here? The answer was unexpected. On an island surrounded by some of the best-preserved reefs of the Colombian Caribbean, there was no permanent, professional dive operation.
So we built it. We started simple: ten tanks, five full sets of gear, a Bauer Junior compressor and a rented boat named Nunca es Tarde. Alberto traveled to Santa Marta to become a Divemaster and, months later, a PADI Instructor. Between 2022 and 2024 we rebuilt our facilities and partnered with Colombia's leading dive travel agencies. In 2025 we got our own boat. Today Nautilus is the first PADI Dive Resort in Isla Fuerte.

Born in Santa Marta, a lawyer by profession, an entrepreneur by obsession and an instructor by vocation. Alberto is crazy about the sea, about discovering new places, seeing big animals and guiding people through their journey as divers.

A diving instructor with over 20 years of experience and a former member of the Venezuelan special forces. He has more stories than García Márquez (believe half of them) and is famous for turning his students' mistakes into beer.

Born in Palmira, Valle del Cauca, she grew up in Bogotá. A biologist by profession, she loves coral and the sea. Cata is the organized soul of Nautilus, and the one who helps you with every detail whenever you write to us.
Our own dive center and filling station, and an all-inclusive hotel next door: La Playita. Restaurant, beach bar, spa, coworking and direct access to the reef. Diving and lodging, in one place.
See lodgingIn Isla Fuerte, diving is a tool for transformation. Every dive supports the reef, the community and the people who discover the ocean for the first time. We want you to leave the water having changed something, starting with yourself.
Every service leaves the reef better than we found it. We take part in conservation projects and share what we learn with the island.
